I will utilize the Google keyword tool to see if that particular product has a decent number of traffic. The higher the monthly keyword searches, the higher the competition. Therefore, you would be better off targeting niches with low competition. I have had great success with a product which gains an average of 1,200 searches every month. I still earn over a month for that particular website, even if it is not searched that often. This goes to show that it is not always the best option to target competitive products.

When I have found a list of suitable products, I will then check whether I can get a decent domain. The perfect domain would be one which allows you to get a.com domain for that particular product keyword. For example, if you are targeting soft cushions then the best domain would be softcushions.com. However, you do not have to worry too much about it. It will be fine as long as you can fit in the main keyword somewhere.
